TipoD® & Brakko announce the development of a CPAP
Brasília, Brazil - TipoD®, Brakko and UnB – Universidade de Brasília via FINEP funding initiate the development of a CPAP device to meet developing countries medical needs.

Brazilian ITU – Intensive Treatment Unit medical services have a lack of CPAP – Continuous Positive Airway Pressure units available in medical facilities around the country. As a result many human lifes are lost every year in hospitals, this situation is similar in other Latin America countries since the cost of Automatic CPAP units are high to developing countries, in matter of fact, medical care year budget never rise, on the other hand, they decrease.
The primary goal to TipoD®, Brakko and UnB joint venture is to reduce obits occurrence in ITU by developing an equipment that meets developing country needs: an efficient and cheaper CPAP unit. The project has to achieve a unit that meets international medical standards and is at the same time cheaper then imported units.
The estimative is to deliver a final test unit around December 2008. The sale schedule depends on both legal and technical requirements but is planned to July 2009.
