TipoD: our methodology and processes

We use modern methodologies for the development of businesses, products and services in synchrony with the global tendencies and in agreement with the regional needs. We study, analyze and diagnose each case to elaborate the best action plan. Intelligence to anticipate and an innovative-efficient implementation are our main characteristics in projects drifted in several technologic, market and economic scenarios.

Strategic Products Planning
The Portfolio of Product and Services are elaborated to aid business decision. It contains several parameters for the beginning of the business and engineering project's planning, such as market, technology and macro-economy information. This is the first level of the entire endeavor; the result is a Project Charter document.

Project Planning
The Project Charter is detailed according to international standards (PMBOK) to meet business requirements: method, human resources, financial resources, installations, laboratories, hardware infrastructure, acquisitions and all the product/service life cycle activities are anticipated and detailed until every human-machine work package. All needed scenarios are simulated using GANTT-CPM-PERT tools in order to have the best one selected and to have guaranteed all the enterprise requirements as well.

Information Project
The green light is on: the first effort of the development has been started, now all the rules, regulations, user behavior, marketing research, engineering standards, style, human factors and every data mining related to the design itself are analyzed, processed and validated using modern project technologies such as QFD, Kano, FTA, FMEA and others to meet stakeholders needs and business requirements. The result of this process is the product specification chart along with its goals, financial, market and consumer detailed information.

Concept Project
The specifications goals are projected into many technical solutions that could allow an equipment to operate in the selected specification, planned quality, efficiency and cost range. The further alternatives selection are conducted by using a pre-selected path (DXF) that aid the team to focus altogether to the same focus. At the end of this phase several technological and aesthetic architectures are reached with along with its models and mockups.

Preliminary and Detailed project
In this phase, the concept of the product turns from the abstraction to reality. The mechanical, electronics and aesthetic concepts are transformed in dimensional greatness with functions that synthesize the needs and requirements of the project. Like this, an entire effort of joining different knowledge areas that act direct and indirectly on the product life cycle is necessary to product harmony. The main characteristics of this phase are: intense modeling CAD, evaluation CAE to simulate efforts, prototypes and tests. At the end of this phase, all the pieces that compose the product are measured and materials are specified simultaneously with industrial processes.

Preparation for Production
The success of a product depends on the process of implementation acquisition of materials, production and assembly. Like so, it's crucial that the product design and industrial process are adjusted so that the planned quality is reached at the estimated cost. It is exaggerated to imagine that all possible strategic and tactical scenarios have been foreseen in the initial stages of a project and aren't going to change on the following weeks. Specifications not fully reviewed, last hour modification onto design, supplier change, material price, currency change and even inclusion of additional functions, among other difficulties are always present in the process of product development. Therefore, a special attention in this implementation moment is necessary, or costs and time to market are going to drastically increase.

Use and Operation
A period of time established to commercialize the product and/or service. It is done the supervision of the commercial success during this life cycle phase along with many other parameters already established. TipoD if necessary does the necessary redesign of processes and/or components to accomplish a desirable optimization.

Maintenance
In the product life cycle, its durability and reliability are always requirements that impact in the costumer's perception of quality and also can decrease the profit in the commercial process. The easiness for accomplishment of maintenance of the product is designed and managed from the initial phases of the product development.

Discontinuance
TipoD plans the process of product/service discontinuance in earlier project phases, so that, it can be a smoother procedure with minor losses to final costumers and supply chain. The remaining parts and components for distribution are estimated using reliability data processed during the commercial life cycle.

Recycling
A process planned during R&D stages to be executed concurrent with the product life cycle. This process guaranties that parts and components can be transformed again in raw materials and produces no undesirable residual wastes to the environment. A list of recycling plants is also developed if a product has a special need for materials or dangerous parts.
